Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that it is introducing a new affinity program called Gun Club, which will allow its members to get exclusive content for the videogames they love. At the moment, the games linked to Gun Club, as the name suggests, are shooters like Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the upcoming Medal of Honor and the Vietnam-based expansion pack DICE is working on for the winter.

The publisher is promising that it will also be introducing offers linked to the free-to-play Battlefield Heroes and to the upcoming Dead Space 2, with future plans including all releases from the company using shooting as game mechanic.

All those who are members of the VIP program for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which means they bought the game new and have a code that came with it, will be able to get early access to the beta stage of Medal of Honor and to a weapon based on the upcoming title, the M24 specialized sniper rifle. At the moment, access to the Gun Club is linked to the EA profile that players already have.

Jeff Karp, who is the senior vice president of marketing at Electronic Arts, stated, “This program takes our games from being individual launches to being part of an ecosystem within our portfolio, while showing fans our appreciation for their loyalty. The Gun Club gives us a platform to cross-pollinate our games, dialogue directly with players and add value to the entertainment experience for fans. Today, we are launching the Gun Club with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor – two of the hottest titles coming out this year… and this is just the beginning.”

Electronic Arts is working hard lately to offer extra content to the big fans of its titles and who pick them up new, without resorting to the second hand market. Before Gun Club, the company launched the Project Ten Dollars initiative and announced the introduction of Online Passes for its sports titles.
