It is the sequel to the 2003 game Black Mirror. The game was released for Microsoft Windows in Europe on November 5, 2009, and in North America on March 30, 2010. A remastered version of the game was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on November 29, 2018.

The game is set in the 1990s, twelve years after the events of the first game. The player takes control of Darren Michaels, a private investigator who is hired to investigate the disappearance of a young woman named Emily Carter. Darren’s investigation leads him to Black Mirror Castle, a remote and mysterious mansion that is rumored to be haunted.

As Darren explores Black Mirror Castle, he uncovers a dark and sinister secret. The castle is home to a malevolent force that is terrorizing the local villagers. Darren must use his wits and courage to defeat the evil force and save Emily Carter.
