Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space: A Giant Bug-Stomping Good Time
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is a third-person shooter video game developed by Sandlot and published by D3 Publisher. It is a remake of the 2006 PlayStation 2 game Earth Defense Force 2, which was released in Japan as Global Defence Force. Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Windows in 2014.
The game is set in 2025, where Earth is invaded by giant insects and robots from outer space. The player takes control of a soldier from the Earth Defense Force (EDF), and must fight back against the alien invaders.
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space features four different character classes:
- Ranger: The all-arounder class, with balanced stats and a variety of weapons.
- Wing Diver: A jetpack-equipped class that can fly and use powerful homing missiles.
- Air Raider: A support class that can call in airstrikes and deploy turrets.
- Fencer: A heavily armored class with a flamethrower and a rocket launcher.
Each class has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and players must learn to use them effectively in order to survive.
The game features a variety of different missions, from defending cities from giant ants to infiltrating alien motherships. The missions are all fairly straightforward, but they are a lot of fun to play through, especially with friends.
One of the best things about Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is its over-the-top action. The game is full of giant explosions, flying body parts, and cheesy one-liners. It’s a lot of fun to just let loose and shoot some bugs.
Of course, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is not without its flaws. The graphics are a bit dated, and the AI can be a bit wonky at times. But these are minor complaints in an otherwise excellent game.
If you’re looking for a fun and over-the-top co-op shooter, then Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is definitely worth checking out. It’s a game that’s easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master. And with its huge variety of missions and character classes, there’s a lot of replayability to be found.
EDF! EDF! EDF!
