Scooby-Doo Mystery is a side-scrolling platformer video game developed by Illusions Gaming Company and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in North America in October 1995 and in Europe in 1996.

Scooby-Doo Mystery is a side-scrolling platformer game with a focus on exploration and puzzle-solving. Players control Scooby-Doo and his friends as they travel through a variety of environments, collecting clues and solving puzzles in order to uncover the truth behind each mystery.

Scooby-Doo’s unique sniffing ability is a key gameplay mechanic. Players can use Scooby to sniff out hidden clues, which are then added to the gang’s case file. The case file can be accessed at any time, and it contains all of the clues that the gang has collected so far.

In addition to sniffing out clues, players can also use Scooby to interact with the environment. Scooby can jump, climb, and push objects, which is often necessary to solve puzzles and progress through the game.

The other members of the gang also have their own unique abilities. Shaggy can use his jumping ability to reach high places, Velma can use her intelligence to solve puzzles, Daphne can use her beauty to distract enemies, and Fred can use his strength to move heavy objects.

Scooby-Doo Mystery features four different levels, each with its own unique mystery to solve. The levels are:

  • The Drabwell Ranch: The gang investigates a haunted ranch, where ghosts are scaring away the guests.
  • Deadman’s Cove: The gang travels to a seaside town, where a ghostly pirate is terrorizing the tourists.
  • The Fun Fair: The gang visits a fun fair, where a mysterious monster is causing chaos.
  • The Haunted Mansion: The gang investigates a haunted mansion, where a group of ghosts are trying to scare them away.

Each level is filled with puzzles and challenges, and players must use all of their skills to solve the mystery and defeat the ghosts.

In addition to the main levels, Scooby-Doo Mystery also features a number of mini-games. These mini-games are accessed through the “Scooby Snacks” menu, and they can be played at any time.

The mini-games include:

  • Wac-A-Monster: A classic whack-a-mole game, where players must hit ghosts with a hammer.
  • Make a Scooby Sandwich: A puzzle game, where players must assemble a Scooby Snack sandwich.
  • Scooby-Doo Memory: A memory game, where players must match pairs of Scooby-Doo characters.

The mini-games are a fun way to earn extra Scooby Snacks, which can be used to purchase items in the game’s shop.

Graphics and Sound

Scooby-Doo Mystery features colorful and detailed graphics that faithfully recreate the look and feel of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series. The character sprites are large and expressive, and the environments are full of vibrant colors and textures.
